We are seeking a hands-on CTO to lead the development of our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions as we scale across Europe.

This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who enjoys building products, teams, and technology platforms in a fast-moving startup environment, while ensuring compliance with European and international standards.

What You’ll Do

• Own and drive the BESS technology roadmap from concept to commercial deployment

• Lead system design across batteries, inverters, EMS, and grid integration

• Ensure compliance with EU grid codes, safety, and international standards

• Support customer projects, tenders, and technical decision-making

• Attend events and give presentation on our technology and solutions

• Build and lead a high-performing engineering and R&D team

What We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field

• Demonstrable experience in energy storage, power systems, or renewables

• Strong hands-on experience with BESS architectures and grid-connected systems

• Experience working on international or multi-country European projects

• Strategic mindset with a pragmatic, startup-ready approach

• Excellent presentation skills – also to large audiences

• Willingness to travel

• Fluent English and Finnish are required
